Jane recently exhibited at MACLA Gallery (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americano) in San Jose, California. The show was titled “Conceptual Landscapes: recent work by Castillo and Mariana Garibay”. She also recently completed a collaborative outdoor installation at Parque de los Pobladores, San Jose, CA called “Bloodlines” which utilizes red fabric, photo luminescent thread and stretches approximately 150′ long.

“Bloodlines is a conceptual gesture of bloodlines connecting family trees. The vein- like red fabric strips, bearing an embroidered family name, elegantly pay homage to lineages in San Jose.” -Jane Castillo

Jane has a current exhibition through May 2, 2010 called, “An Idea Called Tomorrow at the California African American Museum. Here is a link to an online counterpart of project of her project An Idea Called Tomorrow -2.

Tomorrow Brings… is a collection of captured moments, a series of “nows” in a non-linear fashion as with the 4th dimension—space-time. A video game-like installation that can be viewed in the museum or online. What does tomorrow bring? What would you like to see in the future that you do not already experience today? Castillo asked this question to people in the arts community in Los Angeles. They answered the question as if they were already in the future.
